#MalikhainMartes: Renaissance

The use of make-up in a male dominated world is sometimes demonized.

They say women trick and catfish them and women do it to impress

others and mask their true selves, Society has also placed this burden

on women to look a certain way and have slim or appealing figures.

This is not the case for Tinay. She uses make-up as her weapon for the

battles that life gives everyday. For her make-up is an art form.

Painting her face into a masterpiece seen below is uplifting and

empowering for Tinay and other girls. It's with her blue eyelids she

gains confidence to flaunt her work, her art to the streets of Taft

and beyond, wherever it may take her.

In this photo shoot I got to get to know Tinay and her most intimate

parts. Slowly she undressed and peeled off her insecurities and

revealed her confidence and fun self that made us both enjoy the

shoot. Tinay gained this confidence when she removed her robe and she

said the most beautiful thing. She said that she thinks her body

belonged to the renaissance era, as if she was a statue or a painting

before. In that moment she reclaimed her body from the male-gazed

society and loved her curves and everything else about her.

She has beautiful and breathtaking marks on her from stretch marks to

tattoos to a hearing aid that looked like such a badass earring to

healing wounds. I think those make her unique and beautiful on her own

as the photos speak for itself.
